A Long Overdue Post...

I can't believe it's been so long since I've updated. I think these first pictures are from February (a little bit old). Luke got a soccer goal set for Christmas. We played in the back yard with it and then went to the park. Luke gets to play soccer next spring and he is already super excited! At the beginning of spring break Nana and Jen came to visit. Luke went home with them and spent four nights. He had a blast!Aunt Jen bought him new sunglasses while he was there. Daniel turned 28 at the end of March. Luke came up with the idea for his birthday cake. The cups in the background - Our home group meets at our house every Sunday night. We have about 12 couples and about 10 kids. I should post pics of the play room after a home group. :) We have a great time though.

We got almost two feet of snow at the end of March. It started sleeting on a Thursday evening. Daniel went in to work for a little while Friday morning and by Friday afternoon it was a blizzard. We didn't even try to go anywhere until Sunday night. Luke helped Daniel shovel off the driveway.Daniel spoke at a youth retreat on the Friday and Saturday of Easter Weekend so Luke and I got to spend the weekend at Nana and Papa's. We colored eggs on Friday before Daddy left.Saturday morning we went to the egg hunt at Papa and Nana's church. That afternoon Papa and Luke had a great time kicking the ball in the front yard.Luke is going through a posing face where he will do something and want me to take his picture. He tucked his shades in his shirt and asked me to take his picture. He said this is what Papa does - only he pronounced does like "doos". Too cute!Another posed picture. A boy and his dog!We kept our friends little girl for a couple of hours last week. Luke loves Baby Ally.
Nana and Jen came in last night and left around 2:30 today. We went to Wal-Mart last night and Luke bought a skateboard with his own money. Nana bought him a helmet. :) We have a few skaters at church that Luke just loves and they are so good with him. He's already talking about taking his skateboard to church Wednesday night and skating with Stetson and Levi. I'll have to post pics of that!
On the adoption front - We really don't have any news. Our fingerprint cards were returned so we had to be refingerprinted. They have been mailed off five weeks as of yesterday so hopefully we hear something in the next couple weeks!
That's all for now!

I Am...

My blog is not normally too in depth. :) I don't know why - Maybe I just don't like to think that much. Anyways, last night when I was reading my Bible I ran into one of my favorite passages and thought that I'd share. It's John 8:48-59. My favorite part is at the end when Jesus is talking about Abraham. The Jews said that Jesus wasn't even 50 years old so how in the world could he have seen Abraham. Jesus says in verse 59 "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was born, I am!". Wouldn't you just love to see the Jews faces when Jesus said that?!?
Sometimes Daniel just jokingly asks me what he should preach about. I always tell him the I Am's. It is kind of our running joke. He's never done it yet. One of the last times I went to church with my parents my Dad preached on some of the I Am's. I had to come home of course and tell Daniel that I my idea made a great sermon! :)
On the adoption front - Our agency got our life book and will start showing it when a birth mom meets our profile. I'm pretty excited!
My parents just left and I just realized I didn't take a single picture while they were here. Please accept my apologies for a photoless post!

I have excuses...

...for being a bad blogger. You know, first we had a computer virus with the computer out of commission for a month. Then, we have no internet service this week. But stay tuned because I have news hiding in this blog post.
We went to Tulsa a few weekends ago and met Sarah, Avi Joy, Andrew, Nehemiah and their moms at a train restaurant. It was a really cool place. Luke and the girls loved watching the train. Luke was having one of those days though. He has only embarassed me by the way he was acting a couple of times and this was one of them. We can't all have perfect days though! :)
Papa's birthday was the weekend we were in town! Happy Birthday Papa! I won't announce to the world how old you are... :)
As for our news - We are adopting again! We have decided to go with an open domestic adoption from Crisis Pregnancy Outreach in Tulsa, OK. We are so excited! Things have been moving really fast. We sent in our application in January. We've had our home study visit, been fingerprinted and all that fun stuff. We just finished our life book and it should be to the agency some time during the last week of this month! Please pray for us and for our child's birth mom. Also please pray for the money for the adoption to become available. We are going to do one fundraiser - a mail out letter to our family and friends. We know that God will provide though, just as he did with the money for Luke's adoption.

I'm Back!

I'm back and sooo far behind. Our computer had a virus and it took us a while to get it fixed. I'll fill everyone in on what we've been up to and then do a better job (maybe) about updating.
Here is Luke with his loot from Nana and Papa's house.
Our Christmas really didn't go as planned. This picture was taken on Tuesday the 23rd. After we opened gifts Luke took a nap and woke up with a fever. We rotated Tylenol and IB Profen and kept it under control, but he consistently ran a fever, coughed and had nose bleeds the whole week of Christmas. We went ahead and went to Granny's on Christmas Eve. Lukas has so much fun with his cousins. He was still sick, but I thought that if I kept him busy he wouldn't think about it. Uncle Bobby and I took Luke, Makayla and Morganne to see the Tale of Desperaux on Christmas Eve. Luke had been coughing and it was making him throw up or get a nose bleed. We were sitting in the movie theater and he started coughing. I kept saying "Please don't throw up" over and over as I tried to get him out of the theater. He ended up having a nose bleed. We were a sight to see. Daniel, my dad, and my cousin Ryan were supposed to be coming to see a movie. When I walked out of the bathroom they were buying their tickets. Dad ended up taking Luke back to Granny's. So it wasn't such a great idea to take the sick kid to the movies.Waiting for Santa!!Christmas Day Luke woke up with a 105 degree fever. I was panicking. He saw that Santa brought the Screamin' Banshee that he wanted and he went straight into a lukewarm bath. His fever did end up breaking that morning. We took him to urgent care after we got back to Tulsa. He had ear infections in both ears and a sinus infection. Poor baby! He is such a trooper though.Granny got Luke the new Thomas train track and movie. He has loved both. His bedroom was a train lover's paradise.Playing in another Christmas present. His new thing!I woke him up taking this picture, but it was too cute! Sleeping with his had on Daddy's face.
Since Christmas we really haven't done anything. Daniel is playing Church League basketball. Those games always prove entertaining. Their current record is 1-1. They have a game tonight so we'll see how that goes.
I'll try to do better about updating! :)

Our Happy Birthday Jesus Party!!!

Last night we had a birthday party for Jesus complete with cupcakes and ice cream! Luke loves birthday parties for that specific reason. So I figured if we had a party with cake and ice cream he might understand more that Christmas is Jesus' birthday. After we had our cake and ice cream we went through FamilyLife's What God Wants for Christmas. Here is Luke looking in the mirror (since God wants us for Christmas) that was in box number 7. And here is the Sweet Boy with the completed nativity set!
Merry Christmas Everyone! I'll post again after Christmas.

Thanksgiving and Other Stuff

It has been a long time since my last post. We've had computer drama...
We put our Christmas tree up before we left for Thanksgiving. Friday has been deemed Family Fun Night at the Sweet House. So we had family fun putting up the tree. Daniel was spreading the ornaments out on the tree after Luke put them on. Daniel was finished by the time we got to the balls. You can tell who decorated the tree! I love it.
We headed to Nana and Papa's at the beginning of the next week. I sure didn't take very many pictures while we were gone at Thanksgiving. Makayla and Luke have so much fun at Granny's house. Makayla is such a good cousin. We went to see Madagascar 2 with Kayla and Uncle Bobby. Luke liked the movie and is loving singing the Move It song.We went to the park on Thanksgiving Day with my parents to take their Christmas card picture. Luke had to give the toys a try before we had Thanksgiving Dinner. We came home and Luke and I headed back to Nana and Papa's the next weekend for Nana's 50th birthday! We had lunch with Sarah, Andrew and Avi Joy. Luke and I had to dash pretty quick to go and get our hair cut. He loves playing with Sarah and Avi Joy.That night we took Nana out to dinner for her birthday. We took Luke to Rhema after that. Luke loved the bridge at Rhema. Check out our Spiderman! We had snow at our house last week! Daniel did go and get his coat after this picture! We went to our city's Christmas light display on Friday night. It wasn't as good as Rhema, but for our town it wasn't bad. It was lots of fun with Luke running in front of me and Daniel.
Luke is learning and growing so fast. Last night Daniel and Luke were watching the John movie on TBN. I was wanting to put Luke to bed, but Daniel said that he wanted to see Jesus die on the cross. I said that I thought that would be gruesome. Daniel told me it was rated G. So my little sweet boy watched a movie all about Jesus with his Daddy. It was so sweet watching them. He doesn't understand everything about sin and all that, but he is really understanding that Jesus died on the cross and came back from the dead.
This Friday for Family Fun Night we're having a birthday party for Baby Jesus! Maybe all get those pictures up in a more timely manner. If I don't Merry Christmas everyone!
